You need to find a way for syslog to get information from the low-level
servers directly. I can think of various ways to do it; but it's not as
trivial as you seem to believe.

That was the answer i wanted to trigger. If syslogd was working so well, there would already be entries of it in the Hurd servers.

Can you please elaborate which servers you characterise as "low-level"? Since all Hurd servers lie in user space, it seems contradictory to use the term low-level.
