A generic remark here: Try to post a patch series as a single thread.

git format-patch has some features that are supposed to make this
easier, but these are tricky to use -- it might not even be possible at
all with a webmailer interface.

Alternatively, it should be possible to save the cover letter as a
draft; then manually put the patches as replies to that; and finally
send it all out...

I'm not sure what the best option is. Try to figure something out.

When resending an improved patch series, post it as a new thread. It's
easier to deal with that than to pick up the newest patches from various
replies in the original thread(s)...
