I also had never seen/hit that one before; now I have, during a GCC
build, after about 11 h of compiling:

    checking whether the target can unlink an open file... yes
    checking whether the target has CRLF as line terminator... no
    configure: updating cache ./config.cache
    configure: creating ./config.status
    config.status: creating Makefile
    config.status: creating libgfortran.spec
    config.status: creating config.h
    config.status: executing default-1 commands
    Adding multilib support to Makefile in ../../../master/libgfortran
    config.status: executing depfiles commands
    config.status: executing libtool commands
    config.status: executing gstdint.h commands
    Resource lost
    Resource lost

... with the assertion failure on the Mach console (nowadays on

Likewise for me: 6.9 GiB disk space left, and 1 GiB of RAM with only 7
MiB swap used.
