The patch format is correct indeed. Please however also write a
changelog. See git log for examples.

Also, note that linux/src/drivers/net/ is deprecated, since we now start
network drivers in userland, so it's not much use fixing warnings there.
Actually, the whole Linux glue code will probably go away sooner or
later, so it's probably not useful to dive into it (in particular since
there are so many harmless warnings not so much worth spending your time
