Ok, trying to compile vim 2:8.2.2434-2... seems to hang on this test:
VIMRUNTIME=../../runtime ../vim -f -u unix.vim -U NONE --noplugin --not-a-term 
-S runtest.vim test_help.vim  --cmd `au SwapExists * let v:swapchoice = "e"' > 
vim: malloc.c:4034: _int_malloc: Assertion `(unsigned long) (size) >= (unsigned 
long) (nb)' failed.

I don't know if log of this already existed on the Net.

Will probably try to look at it a bit more.
