Hi, I don't speak for gnu but one thing that comes to mind is that there is less code in general in the operating system because it's a microkernel model, so even drivers for hardware are not part of the core and run in userspace.
I am also guilty of not adding enough documentation for the features I am adding.
We do need more developers and also to lower the bar for new contributions, documentation is key I think.
In terms of code readability, having a strict coding style helps I think but some people think the gnu C coding style is very different and difficult to get used to, personally I have grown to like it.
Cheers,
Damien

Hi GNU HURD Team,I love how clear and well-organized GNU HURD’s code is. It’s much easier to read compared to Linux and BSDCould you share some key differences in code readability between HURD and other kernels? I’d love to help highlight this strength to attract more contributorsYour project deserves more attention, and I’m happy to help spread the wordThanks for your amazing workLeonardo Ruilova
