Thanks for the email. This is _very_embarrasing. I'll look into it
(probably not this week, though: I've got to finish a grant
application by Friday, so I expect most of my out-of-the-job time will
be eaten by that).

This can be improved in the future (same for the Perl patch I think).
What troubles me is that after applying the patch,
the python and R scanner seems to fail its own tests:

test-file.R.bad-{xtokid,fid}
Oops! xtokid and fid disagree for test-file.py--look in
test-file.py.bad-{xtokid,fid}
