Why? When you'd need to get autogenerated files you'd do
mkdir tmp.$$
cvs -d :ext:cvs.sv.gnu.org/cvsroot/inetutils co autofiles
cp -r tmp.$$/* inetutils
# Or: (tar -C tmp.$$ -cf - .)|(cd inetutils; tar xf -)
# or whatever equivalent command
rm -rf tmp.$$
(this could be a script provided with the inetutils module itself)
Commiting them back to CVS is also not difficult.
