Unfortunately, it's a bit tricky to install cygwin with LilyPond if you
don't have an ethernet connection. The setup.exe is just a pure
installation program that fetches a list of available packages from the
web and then downloads and installs the packages you have selected.
In order to run LilyPond, you need a fully functional Cygwin
installation, which includes a large number of packages.
I think it should be possible to run the setup.exe program on a machine
with ethernet access, choose the "download from internet" option, select
the lilypond package as described at
http://lilypond.org/web/download/windows.html.
Then, you could save the full directory ftp%%... or http%%...
that is created by setup onto a CD. At home, it should then be possible
to choose "install from local directory".

Hi,
I've tried several times to install Lilypond 2.0 under Windows, but it doesn't work. I've
downloaded the files onto CD because I don't have internet access at home. I followed all
your instructions, but when I run setup.exe again to install I get the Windows message
"grave error - do you want to send a report?" or something, and the program
doesn't install. Do you have an idea what could be the problem and how to fix it?
Thanks,
