or, a bit more convoluted, w/ normal sed and redirection, I do
now this in my shell script:

tf=`mktemp -t ${0##*/}-XXXXXXX` || exit 1
sed -e 's/^%%BoundingBox: -*[1-9][0-9]*/%%BoundingBox: 0/' $f >$tf
mv $tf $f
done
