Good point.  An idea for 2.11, then?  ;-)

BTW, let me stress that the new line/page breaking looks much better than
the old one, except that it gives strange results in border cases like the ones
I've stumbled upon.

(I'm committing acts against the nature of Lilypond in order to be able to
automatically create cover pages from within Lilypond.  OK, so using 
bookTitleMarkup and breakbefore = ##t isn't all that strange. The trick
I use to print a back cover is a bit more silly: It involves a score consisting
solely of the lyric " ", some markups including scheme code for printing
EAN bar codes in inline Postscript for a given ISMN, and, again,
breakbefore = ##t.)
