Maybe this e-mail wasn't noticed, so here it is again:
Sorry, I did notice the first one, but I had some difficulties.
Hello, I'm suggesting to make a change in the documentation about horizontal spacing: (11.4.3 Horizontal spacing) Change: #'base-shortest-duration = #(ly:make-moment 1 4) To: #'base-shortest-duration = #(ly:make-moment 1 16) As the second score looks just like the first one.
I tried that, but the second score still looked the same as the first one. I remember trying a whole bunch of different values in there when I first wrote that documentation, so something weird is happening -- perhaps the recent spacing changes have rendered it obsolete? In any case, I couldn't spend more than five minutes experimenting with it, so it's on my list of things to do soon.
==== Now on the topic 7.3.7.4 "Specifying melismata within the lyrics". I can't understand very well what it means, so I don't have a good suggestion for a change, but I do notice that the examples are duplicated, which I think is unnecessary. I guess the first example should display the problem and the second the solution.
I haven't looked at this yet, but if the examples _are_ exactly the same, I'll at least delete one of them. I doubt that I'll do anything more than that, since I know far less about lyrics than you do.
Cheers, - Graham
