Unfortunately, it's hard to see these problems in the low-res PNG I
sent. I can supply a higher-res image if necessary.
I recommend you print the score out and examine it with a magnifying glass.
If I examine LilyPond postscript output with evince (under linux), the
barlines appear to stick out under the staff line at 200% magnification and
they appear to sick out above the staff line at 400%. If I examine the pdf
output, everything is fine (although some things are not anti-aliased). If I
use gv or kpdf, there are slightly different nitpicks. If I print out the
score, everything looks fine.
The moral of the story is not to trust the rendering of a pdf viewer on a
low resolution monitor; print out the file and see if the problem is still
there.
