IIRC that's a known issue with Windows console codepages. Using
LilyPond on a French Windows is a nightmare wrt accented chars :-)
Actually this may be a LilyPond issue. I notice on my system
(Vista) that
these po files are rendered correctly when viewed with gitk or a
utf-8-aware
editor like NotePad, but not by, for example, the ConTEXT editor,
which is not utf-8 capable. This suggests it is the responsibility
of
the application to correctly render utf-8 characters. If this is
correct, it
is a LilyPond bug.
