Comment #14 on issue 1060 by Carl.D.Sorensen: Add Funk-style shape note heads
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1060

Your comments about the do head don't match with the engraving in your scan, if I understand correctly. The fIrst measure on staff 2, shows a do head thin side up on the first beat, and a do head thin side down on the second beat. Am I misunderstanding something? Or is that just for the flagged/beamed notes?

I misunderstood about the whole notes -- that's an easy fix.

Liverpool shows re heads open to the left in measure 1, measure 3, and measure 9 of line 2, where the stem
is up.

Primros shows a fa with a down stem in measure 3 of line 1, and a fa with an up stem in measure 3 of line 2.
The note is in the opposite direction in both cases.

From what I can see of the scan, it's not that the note-heads should aways have the stem-down orientation, it's just that stems are almost always down. And I can determine no rhyme nor reason as to when the stems are chosen to go up. Every rule I have imagined is broken within this one scanned page.

The behavior you have requested (i.e. the notes always look the same) is trivial to implement. But I'm not
convinced it's the right thing to do.

Thanks,

Carl
