Thanks!  what version of git did you use?  I'm having trouble committing it  
to my local tree.  I could just do it manually and use git commit --author   
to preserve your name, but I'm curious about the incompatibility.  Did you  
use
  git format-patch origin
(which is our recommended method) ?
