It is going in at glacial speed due to my current hardware constraints.
As Patchy was not happy with it (due to problems of its setup I continue
to believe) and since I am arranging this into commits that should
verify on their own (and am verifying those...) and make for reasonably
clean reverts should they prove necessary, it is piecemeal work.

Hopefully finished some time today.
