New issue 2398 by address@hidden: Create !name and !offset messages in
lilypond-book for LaTeX
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2398
AUCTeX, a TeX shell in Emacs, inserts lines like
\message{ !name(lilytalk.lytex) !offset(-3) }
into LaTeX files that it creates, and when the LaTeX program outputs those
messages among its error messages, AUCTeX knows that errors occuring in the
current file actually belong to the file lilytalk.lytex, and the error line
numbers in error messages have an offset from the real position of -3. It
would be quite nice if LilyPond-book (via command line option?) was able to
insert these lines into the .tex file it generates from .lytex: that way
error message processing would point right to the actual source.
That would also be a prerequisite to make preview-latex, a WYSIWYG
subsystem of AUCTeX, do the right thing.
