Huh? The rest of the fonts on what looks like your screenshot from a browser are also sans-serif. Huh? It's looks like a problem with your system. As I said, I can't reproduce it on my system from git master.

FWIW, I just did make doc-clean and make doc, and the resulting .png uses the serif face. This is with 2.17.24 and
