Omitting any actual example is too brief.

There is a lot that comes with an installation of LilyPond.  If you
don't manage to be more specific than that, it is not likely that
anybody can help you.  Please remember that only very few LilyPond
developers even use MacOSX: the installers are generated automatically
for a whole lot of systems, and the developers rarely use a system
installed by our installers (installed systems are not useful for
developing).

Your error report is about as helpful as telling a battery engineer that
you press the third button from the left on your dashboard when the
battery dies.

That much was pretty clear.  But you still failed to specify the input.

The platform has nothing to do with it.  The file contents of the input
file and the version of LilyPond has.
