Thanks for all of your help Sergey.

So I now have a Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 sparc package and soon the same
for Solaris x86 architecture.

I may want to see if there are other configure options needed, but I
have the basic package which includes --with-gnutls and --with-db2
--enable-mh-utils.

My intent is to publish the packages for blastwave.org users.  We have
over 700 open source packages for the Solaris community and your
programs will be a fine addition :>
