Hi; I posted a patch for this in the Savannah bug.  Please let me know
if that works for you or not.

My original goal was to release 3.81rc1 last Sunday (done), and release
3.81 this coming Sunday.  I'll only make an rc2 if there are non-trivial
changes that I'm worried might break something that I can't test easily.
So, if you could find some time to verify (or not) this patch before the
weekend that would be great!
