_______________________________________________________
Details:
The $(info) construct prints nothing in a context where $(warning) and
$(error) do print a message as expected:
> cat mymakefile
foo := $(info aninfomessage)
bar := $(warning awarningmessage)
baz := $(error anerrormessage)
all:
> make -f mymakefile
mymakefile:2: awarningmessage
mymakefile:3: *** anerrormessage. Stop.
The $(info) construct prints nothing when used by itself, either:
> cat anothermakefile
foo := $(info aninfomessage)
all:
> make -f anothermakefile
make: Nothing to be done for `all'.
