URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?29814> Summary: Library search feature should be configurable for multilib systems Project: make Submitted by: None Submitted on: Fri 07 May 2010 04:10:39 AM UTC Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Enhancement Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: CVS Operating System: POSIX-Based Fixed Release: None Triage Status: None _______________________________________________________ Details: GNU Make's library search feature (activated by prerequisites of the form -lLIBNAME) searches the hard-coded directories /lib and /usr/lib along with make's own libdir. This is unhelpful on a multilib system. Make should provide a way to vary the search path depending on the architecture of the target being built. I originally reported this against Fedora, and I posted a patch series there that adds the feature and makes some other cleanups: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=583689 _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?29814> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
