@#12: Yes, exactly.

Now we'll have to find out which one of vsnprintf() and va_copy() is broken
and how to work around it.

Are you familiar with C and can you do some tests to find out? (You can try
standalone programs based on these functions, they're not much entangled with
the rest of the code.)
