Thank you for the replies. Yes, the referenced commit (b552b0525198) was
tried:

but the pselect/zombie issue continued to show up in our ports bulk builds.
While the problem may not be tripping on other platforms, the fact that
SIGCHLD does not remain blocked should be visible via strace(1). Since
applying the submitted patch our pselect/zombie issue has not resurfaced.
