So Ithought Id just take a sneak round to the side
and see if it wasyou.
It was lovely there to-night with the
eerieloveliness of a fine November evening. I could feel myself turning red all over
my face and neck.
All the etiquette in theworld couldnt have
prevented it.
Of course, I felt like a fool, but I got up and
laughed. No, that wont do now, Aunt Elizabeth, said Emily quietly. And I get so
muchpleasure out of all my little belongings. Of course, I felt like a fool, but I
got up and laughed. Elizabeth Murray felt that it was a very bittermoment for her.
Nothingwrong with my checker etiquette, I tell YOU. Why, I felt like ayoung eagle,
soaring sunward. We have The Idylls of the King in English class this term. Its true
to life as it SHOULD BE and thats a better truth thanthe other.
It is hard not to see all at once theresults of
those estimable virtues. A nice reek of burning autumn leaves came from CousinJimmys
smouldering bonfires in the lane.
She could hardly believe it, even after Cousin
Jimmy took them toShrewsbury and cashed them. An open fire is always lovely, butit
is ten times lovelier on a stormy night. Did you tilt your plate to get the last
spoonful? I told her the wholestory, but of course she didnt believe it. Herbert is
a member of the Dominion Cabinet and a man who stands inthe presence of kings.
