The cooler weather in the morning can become uncomfortable if all we have in our biking wardrobe are shorts and a short sleeve jersey. They are also good for cooler weather because generally the fingers become the coldest due to touching the metal brake levers. Just make sure you have it tied together with a tube or it could jump out on a rough ride.
I really like the ones that have the illuminite material woven into them. You might be lucky and not have to hitch a ride to work or call your boss to come pick you up, but you are still going to have to leave your bike in the shop for a couple of days. They can also keep you from hypothermia when the weather turns wet and cold unexpectedly. Eine nette Dame und ein junger Mann gehen ihres Weges und plaudern miteinander. This article isn't intended to take the place of your local bike shop mechanic. Your bike is going to break down on you in the middle of your commute.
More expensive helmets also are lighter and usually fit much better.
They are fingerless, allowing your hands to grip small things easier. Finding a good and reasonably priced pump can be a daunting task with all the options out there. I recommend glueless patches which work great as long as they are kept dry. There are so many factors that come into play when looking for a good lock, that this really needs to be an article on its own. These bags are very durable and worth every penny.

A bike mechanic is an invaluable resource and can really help out with the tough stuff like truing wheels, packing bearings, rebuilding suspension, etc.
Nothing beats this mirror from REI that fits on your glasses. Which is why I find it hard to understand how so many people can ride their bike in traffic without a rear view mirror.
I understand how important this can be for something as challenging as mountaineering, especially for those just getting started. It is also so much easier to purchase a tool kit than to have to run to the bike shop every time you need a certain tool.
A multi-tool should be small and light enough so not to discourage you from bringing it.
It should still fit well, even if you are packing a light load.
This one is small and lightweight, also a very good price. It should still fit well, even if you are packing a light load. I like these glasses from Performance because of its large flat surface area for attaching the mirror I recommend above.
I like this particular manual because it covers both road and mountain bikes.

You can always throw this in your commuter bag or camel back if you are a mountain biker.
