Great, thank you. I will begin work on a patch for airport codes. I think it would be useful to add ICAO codes to this file while I add additional airports- should I just add that at the end of the line?

Are you suggesting to remove the file? Though I see no strong reason
to remove it.

   I would like to contribute to a renovation of this file (adding the many missing items)- what is the best way to go about that?

I would suggest just modifying it and sending a patch; with some
rationale as to the changes.
