   Probably inspired by my wishing I had all the nice fixes Taylor
   has made to imail this summer.

It is generally OK to update just the imail/ subdirectory to get my
fixes -- in fact, that's why I could reproduce the date problem on
maharal but not on my own machine.  I can let you know whether any
other directories need to be updated.
