question and issues regarding parted

i am using the boot disk version of parted, version 1.2.9.
i used it to resize a dos partition and then i used fdisk add a
additional partition and to look at the partition. normally, fdisk
displays a + after the block count to indicate that there are unallocated
sectors, but it is usually possible to adjust the sectors in the partitions
so that the unused sectors are at the end of the last partition.
however in this case the unused sectors appeared at the end of the
partition that i resized with parted. is is possible to adjust the size
of the partition so that this is the case using parted?

second, it would be helpful if fdisk was on the boot image also, but this
is a minor issue.

third and i think this is a bigger problem, the reboot command does nothing
on my computer, a amd k2. ctl-alt-del does start the system rebooting,
but after it dismounts everything, it does not reboot.

i have used toms linux on a floppy and that will cause the system to
reboot, so it seems possible that the system can be rebooted under software
control.

i want to thank you for this product. it is really helpful to me.
