Yep.  It's rather difficult for parted to deal with seriously broken
partition tables, and it didn't occur to me that you could
"shrink" a hard disk.

Adding support for allowing an extended partition to be shrunk
to the size of the disk might be bring more problems than it's
worth.

What if you had logical partitions after 32gb?  etc.
