In fact we are not to!
All we need is a minor fix to loopback driver to make it *skip* (not
allocate in the backed file) zeroed blocks.
So to estimate space we do not copy data of file. Instead we copy
*shape* of file.
Then if all is ok (there is enough space for fs image and image index)
we actually do data moving (and our loopback allocates blocks for us as
it always do).

If you are busy ATM I suggest to fork parted temporarily (let's call it
GNU PartedTNG :-) for implementing and maturing this functionality.
