Dear Ruggero,

You cannot do that, cause redhat's Disk Druids or mkfs/mke2fs are NOT
compatible with parted!!!!

- Boot in Rescue mode from the CD without mounting anything!!

- Create a new partition using "mkpartfs" parted in /dev/hdb1. Why? So
you can later use parted to resize it if you need it ;-)

- Make a dir /mnt/old

- Mount hda in old

- Make a dir /mnt/new

- Mount hdb in new

- `cp -p -r -v old/* new` (-p preserves file attrib.; -r recursive copying)
