This is probably true... Parted is only going to improve significantly
if someone is prepared to spend a lot of time on it.  (Very unlikely
to be me)

That happens with any free software project.  If someone like Bart
comes along and actually follows through with code, then there's
nothing to stop that from being successful apart from it being
a big job.

Also, I'd like to point out some special circumstances over the last
year:
 * the CHS drama was really hard to deal with.  It meant my already
limited time was directed away from other things.
 * the ftp.gnu.org security issue also killed a lot of my time.
