Notice that a debian bug report against the parted seems to suggest that
putting the drive in LBA mode in the BIOS fixes these issues, and that they
only appear when CHS is selected in the BIOS.

That said, my knowledge of broken x86 hardware is rather abysmal, so i could
be speaking nonsense here. A simple solution is to just erase windows though
:)
