Email i sent to bug-parted yesterday follows:

Hi guys,

I don't know if it's a bug but I send it anyway to this bugreport.
I hope you can help me.

I have EMC AX100SC storage box. I created a very large disk pool and virtual
disks (4.5TB)
I'm using RHEL4 Linux 2.6.9-34.EL #1 Fri Feb 24 16:44:51 EST 2006 i686 i686
i386 GNU/Linux
And I'm also using parted shipped with RHEL4 .

I get this error when I'm using parted on the 4.5TB storage box. See below ..
address@hidden ~]# parted /dev/sde
GNU Parted 1.6.19

This is in the message log when I do use parted on the diskbox?.
Current sde: sense key Medium Error
Additional sense: Unrecovered read error

I let fdisk -l output for sde follow as well
WARNING: GPT (GUID Partition Table) detected on '/dev/sde'! The util fdisk
doesn't support GPT. Use GNU Parted.

Disk /dev/sde: 4786.7 GB, 4786741051392 bytes

/dev/sde1 1 267350 2147483647+ ee EFI GPT

I have been using parted on other storage boxes we have but they are a bit less
or 3.3TB and it worked fine.

I hope I'm asking the right people for help and you have enough info to deal
with.
