parted-1.8.6 - unrecognised disk label

Hello,

parted 1.8.6 is giving me grief.

I have two HD's without any fancy things like RAID or LVN. Here is what
parted-1.8.6 is coming up when I try to examine:

Both versions are self compiled. I had problems with earlier 1.8 - variants.

Any pointers?
