I wasn't sure about that. The specification calls for a CRLF, so I was
being pedantic. But, I grant that pyconfigure is most likely to be used
on Unix-like systems, so I have no problem just changing it to a normal
LF.

I'll do some more research as well.

Does that mean that the "cat" prefix bug is continuing for you?
