Hi Nelson.

    Repeated attempts to build and validate recutils-1.5 on GNU/Linux
    SPARC (Gentoo 2.0.3) have failed here.  The build part succeeds with
    gcc (Gentoo 4.5.3-r1 p1.0, pie-0.4.5) 4.5.3, but "make check" gets
    missing run-time symbols:

    Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?  
    
    The missing symbol rec_record_mset is defined in src/rec-record.c, but
    that object is not being found at run time.

Weird... is there by chance some library called librec.(so|a) in your
system which is not the one provided by recutils?  I would look among
the libraries loaded before LD_LIBRARY_PATH is used (i.e. the libraries
shipped with gcc).
