If you are using MS-Windows then does that mean you are using Cygwin?

If so then they are the best folks to help you with your questions.
None of us over here are running MS-Windows and can't help you. Check
out their FAQ first and if you don't find anything relevant then ask
on the appropriate cygwin mailing list.
