[Bug-tar] how to restore from --listed-incremental backup?

What's the recommended way to restore from a --listed-incremental
backup?  I.e., do you use the --listed-incremental flag on the restore
too, and if so, with which version of the list?  Would I be correct
assuming that the tar files should be restored in the order they were
made?

Sorry if this is a boneheaded question, but I haven't been able to
puzzle this out from the manual.

In case it matters, I'm using tar 1.13.25.
