[Bug-tar] Question about GNU tar and maximum archive file size |

I'm using FreeBSD 6.2 and gtar built from the ports collection.
I am also using AMANDA 2.51p2
I am trying to back up a couple thousand home directories which use Maildir
for the e-mail storage format.
The problem I keep seeing is that the maximum amount of data I seem to be
able to store in the archive is approximately 120GB. I was wondering if
perhaps there is a way to fix this limitation.
The output logged from AMANDA log:
... lots of warnings about files not existing ...
| Total bytes written: 129763860480 (121GiB, 1.9MiB/s)
sendbackup: error [/usr/local/bin/gtar returned 1]
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
