OK, attached is a Perl script which can both summarize and change the
'dev' information in a snapshot file. I included the GNU copright at
the top, and an attribution of authorship to myself.
Gene Heskett, who originally brought this issue to amanda-hackers'
attention, tested the script and feels that it works and adequately
solves the problem of device major numbers changing during kernel
upgrades.
