"Syntax, my lad. It has been restored
to the highest place in the republic."

                             -- John Steinbeck

You -do- realize that the subject line is not English, right?
"Cowardly" is an adjective, not an adverb. That is the
English equivalent of writine *0.1 in C. You can't deref
a C float, and you can't adjectivationize an English gerund.

Geeks already have a reputation for being illiterate.
Stuff like this doesn't help any. I've never seen
Richard commit this sort of grammatical atrocity, and
I seriously doubt he would approve of its presence in
GNU code.

I suggest

"Cravenly refusing to create an empty archive."

(Note the dot at the end. Terminal punctuation
is another fine feature of English syntax.)

Keep up the good work, and thanks for all the fishy code! :-)

  ad astra,

"English: Use it or lose it."
