Hello,
in the documentation I found (
http://www.gnu.org/software/tar/manual/tar.html#SEC159 ) is this:
"If you create an archive using both ‘--label=archive-label’ (‘-V
archive-label’) and ‘--multi-volume’ (‘-M’), each volume of the archive will
have an archive label of the form ‘archive-label Volume n’, where n is 1 for
the first volume, 2 for the next, and so on."
But this feature seems to disappear in CVS revision 1.87 (src/buffer.c). Was
this change intended? If so, is it somewhere documented? Thanks in advance
for your answer.
Let me just mention the original report on rhbz:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465803
