[Bug-tar] tar 1.23 test suite - Test 49 (cyclic rename) - Failed unexpectedly

Hi, the attached file hopefully documents a GNU tar 1.23 testsuite 
failure, reported in test 49 (cyclic rename).

Compilation was to a 64-bit (x86_64) target running RH4.  The target 
filesystem is a network-attached ClearCase MVFS, which might be a factor...

I've chosen 1.23 as the test suite for 1.15.1 will not obviously build 
to a 64-bit target.  I believe I encountered a different compile-time 
issue with 1.26, so I next chose 1.23 semi-randomly. If there's another 
release I should use please let me know.
