[Bug-tar] Only last -T recognised?

gtar hcvzf release/verilog.tgz -T release/vfiles.txt -T release/ifiles1.txt

Only the last -T option is recognized. 
But the manual explicitly states: "Any number of '-T' options can be given in 
the command line. "

This is release  tar (GNU tar) 1.15.1 but I searched the Releases page for -T 
and for --files-from
and there was no match meaning this has not changed since then.

Using Redhat:
Linux xl-cbga-04 2.6.18-238.5.1.el5 #1 SMP Mon Feb 21 05:52:39 EST 2011 x86_64 
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
