Its very difficult to get oriented in the tar bug-reporting history..
Users can only send bugs to address@hidden That however does not
assign bug-id against tar component in GNU bug tracker (as is done for
other GNU utilities [1]) and people thus keep (re-)sending duplicate
patches, asking for similar enhancements and report the same bugs.
Could this bug-tracking feature be enabled for GNU tar?
