ouch, I just ran some tests and you're right. My silly assumption was way off.
I think I'll need to add to my toolkit of patches another arg so I can do:
--ignore-regex='[.]html[?]foo=bar,[?]foo=xyz$' etc
libpcre should do just fine with maximum flexibility.
